Passenger Transport Department

The Passenger Transport Department (PTD) is an integral part of HK-Trainkos – Sh.A. and is responsible for the entire operation of passenger transport vehicles within the Enterprise. The PTD is headed by a Director, who holds full professional and legal responsibility for managing the Department. The Director of the PTD reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

The areas covered by the PTD are presented below:
a) Provision of passenger transport services
b) Organization and operation of passenger trains on the railway network.

In order to function with greater efficiency and clearer responsibility, the PTD is organized into the Passenger Transport Sector.

Passenger Transport Sector

a) This Sector handles the planning and organization of passenger transport in both domestic and international traffic
b) This Sector manages ticket sales for the passenger transport service, including ticket sales at stations
c) Carries out the planning of train composition, monitors the implementation of the plan, and is responsible for inspecting trains and motor units in terms of traffic safety
d) Based on routine daily inspections of wagons, verifies their technical condition and their ability to operate in traffic, and, based on the condition found, provides instructions for further action
e) Supplies stations and conductors with the relevant forms and tickets, and prepares weekly and monthly reports on the work of conductors and stations
f) This service handles the organization of work for the purpose of hauling passenger trains, oversees the implementation of planned tasks, and works closely with the MML (Locomotive and Motor Unit Maintenance) Office regarding the preparation of locomotives, motor units, and wagons to ensure their readiness for operation, and analyzes defects in traction vehicles, taking measures to prevent the causes of such defects
g) Cooperates and coordinates work with relevant services regarding the organization of passenger train haulage
h) Ensures timely provision of locomotives and personnel for passenger trains, and also arranges for locomotives, motor units, and wagons to undergo regular inspections, as well as ensuring correct and rational staff deployment within the service
i) Within this service, staff training on locomotive series and regular scheduled education is organized and carried out, along with testing of relevant personnel through periodic exams as required by the Enterprise's internal regulations. Training is conducted by the Training Sector within the Administration Department, while we provide the instructors
j) Analyzes fuel expenditure for each locomotive and motor unit, and prepares the necessary monthly reports for the Sector and the Department.

The Passenger Transport Sector consists of:
a) Personnel Unit
b) Traction Unit
c) Wagon Technical Control Unit, and
d) Dispatchers and Planning Unit.
