Cargo Transport

Trainkos Sh.A offers passanger trasnport services within Kosovo and no international routes.

Our passanger transport serice portfolio includes:

Passanger trasnsport on the Prishtina – Peja – Prishtina route;
Passanger trasnsport on the Fushë Kosovë – Hani i Elezit – Fushë Kosovë route;
Passanger trasnsport on the Prishtina – Shkup – Prishtina route;

Domestic Transport

For domestic transport, Trainkos operates the following regular daily train services:

InterCity Train (IC) – operates daily on the Peja – Prishtina – Peja route;
Local Train (LT) – operates daily on the Peja – Prishtina – Peja;
Freedom of Movement Train (FMT) – operates on the Fushë Kosovë – Hani i Elezit – Fushë Kosovë route;
Local Train (LT) – operates daily on the Fushë Kosovë – Hani i Elezit – Fushë Kosovë route;

Conventional Transport

Within conventional freight transport, various types of wagons are available, including open wagons, covered wagons, wagons with special construction, flat wagons, tank wagons, and others.

Conventional transport includes the transportation of wagon consignments in both domestic and international rail transport. Wagon consignment transport is intended for the market requiring the movement of larger quantities of goods, such as bulk cargo, chemicals, products or semi-finished products of the metallurgical and construction industries, palletized goods, etc. Under special transport conditions, conventional transport also includes special (exceptional) consignments.

Conventional transport is carried out using international trains (EUC trains), fast freight trains operating under Transport Regime B, direct freight trains and grouped freight trains, circular trains, and industrial freight trains.

Combined Transport

Within combined transport, wagons, containers, and trucks are provided for the transportation of various types of goods from the departure station to the final destination station of the goods (shipment).

Combined transport, as an integrated system, combines the advantages of both rail and road transport. Trainkos Sh.A aims to shift freight transport from road to rail in order to reduce road congestion, decrease the number of accidents, save fuel, ensure more efficient use of space, reduce environmental pollution, and minimize noise.

The transfer of transport units from one mode of transport to another is carried out using modern equipment.

We provide combined transport in cooperation with our local and international partners, as well as through other railway operators, road transport organizers, shipping companies, port organizations, and container terminals.

Shipment preparation

For each planned transport, please notify the Marketing Department via e-mail at marketing@trainkos.com, so that we can take all the necessary measures to ensure the successful implementation of the transport.

If you have an agreement or contract with us specifying special transport conditions and schedules, you only need to notify us in the event that the terms of the agreement or contract are not being followed.

Wagon ordering

The sender orders the wagons for loading using the wagon order form at the departure station, depending on the type, weight, and dimensions of the shipment to be handed over for transport and loaded by the sender.

As a rule, wagons must be ordered at least 2–3 days before the intended loading date, depending on the type of wagon required (standard or special). Trainkos will also accept an urgent wagon order for the same day or the following day, provided that the appropriate wagons are available.

If Trainkos accepts the order, the sender is required to ensure that a suitable wagon, corresponding to the required construction and location, is provided at a place where loading is possible, so that all the goods specified in the order can be loaded and transported in the most efficient manner, and the wagons can be utilized as efficiently as possible throughout the transport route, taking into account their loading capacity.

Loading of shipments

Goods prepared for transport must be packaged in such a manner that, during transportation, they are protected against total or partial loss or damage, and that any damage to the railway or to third parties is prevented.

During the loading of the wagon, special care must be taken to ensure that the goods are loaded in such a way that they do not endanger the safety of railway traffic.

The transport user is responsible for loading the wagon shipment, oversized items, packaged goods, live animals, as well as goods transported as piece consignments weighing more than 500 kg. Appropriate equipment must be used to secure and reinforce the load in order to prevent it from shifting during transportation. The transport user is also responsible for any damage caused to the carrier as a result of improper loading of the goods.

The provisions applicable to the loading of goods must be complied with in all cases, regardless of whether the loading is carried out by Trainkos or by the transport user.

Customs points

There are four railway customs points for the customs clearance of goods: Hani i Elezit (working hours: every day, 24 hours), Miradi (working hours: every day, 08:00–15:00), Peja (working hours: every day, 08:00–16:00), and Prishtina – at the premises of the company Intereuropa (working hours: every day, 08:00–16:00).
