Freight Transport Department

The Freight Transport Department is an integral part of HK-Trainkos-Sh.A. and is responsible for the entire operation of freight transport vehicles within the Enterprise. The Freight Transport Department is headed by a Director, who holds full professional and legal responsibility for managing the Department. The Director of the Freight Transport Department reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

The areas covered by the Freight Transport Department are presented below:
a) Provision of freight transport services
b) Organization and operation of freight trains on the railway network.

In order to function with greater efficiency and clearer responsibility, the Freight Transport Department is organized within the Freight Transport Sector.

Freight Transport Sector

a) The Freight Transport Sector handles the organization and execution of freight transport, taking into account the rational use of traction and hauled vehicles.
b) The Freight Transport Sector is responsible for the fleet of rolling stock (locomotives and wagons), and, in cooperation with the Rolling Stock Maintenance Office, monitors the actual condition of this fleet and makes recommendations to the Director of the Freight Transport Department regarding plans to supplement the fleet with the necessary equipment based on transport demand.
c) It is responsible for planning, organizing transport, and carrying out planned tasks in order to meet customer demands and generate revenue for the Enterprise.
d) Cooperates with clients and works to improve the transport structure in order to increase overall transport volume.
e) Cooperates and coordinates work with other Sectors in order to carry out assigned tasks as quickly and safely as possible.
f) This Sector handles the operational organization of freight transport in general, planning trains and the haulage of loaded and empty wagons for designated routes through relevant collaborators, and, in cooperation with other relevant services, organizes work to ensure unobstructed train movement.
g) Prepares reports, information, and statistical records for the Sector's needs regarding freight transport and its progress.
h) Through daily contacts, cooperates and coordinates freight transport matters with neighboring railways according to bilateral agreements.
i) In close coordination with railway stations, monitors the condition of wagons at stations and provides the movement plan for these wagons toward designated destinations.
j) Ensures that transport planning makes the most rational use possible of locomotives and wagons at border stations, where the entry and exit of loaded and empty wagons for various routes is recorded.
k) Through direct participation in the process and regular contact with customs authorities, ensures that every good transported by us goes through the designated customs procedures for both import and export (until the Freight Forwarding Sector becomes operational).
l) Carries out the calculation and control of transport costs, namely the calculation of revenue generated by all clients of our Enterprise who use the freight transport service, and forwards these calculations for invoicing to the Enterprise's financial service.
m) Prepares the necessary documentation for shipments accepted for transport, tracks the progress of these shipments, and also supplies all stations with the forms necessary for keeping freight transport records.
n) Handles the organization of work for the purpose of hauling freight trains, oversees the implementation of planned tasks, and works closely with the Rolling Stock Maintenance (MML) Sector regarding the preparation of locomotives and wagons to ensure their readiness for operation, and analyzes defects in traction vehicles, taking measures to prevent the causes of such defects.
o) Cooperates and coordinates work with relevant services regarding the organization of freight train haulage.
p) Ensures timely provision of locomotives and personnel for freight trains, and also arranges for locomotives and wagons to undergo regular inspections, as well as ensuring correct and rational staff deployment within the service.
q) Within this Sector, staff training on locomotive series and regular scheduled education is organized and carried out, along with testing of relevant personnel through periodic exams as required by the Enterprise's internal regulations. Training is conducted by the Training Sector within the Administration Department, while we (depending on availability and need) provide the instructors!
r) Analyzes fuel expenditure for each locomotive and prepares the necessary monthly reports for the Sector and the Department.
