Kosovo Railways – Trainkos Sh.A., put into operation Locomotive 009 (type G1700), which has been out of operation. The functionalization of Lokomotiv 009 was realized after its general repair, which was enabled with the funds of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

Lokomotiv 009 was purchased in 2006 by the Consolidated Budget Fund of Kosovo.
This locomotive was produced in 2006 in Vossloh, Germany, it is a four-axle locomotive with a weight of 80 tons and an engine with a capacity of 1,700.00 KW.
The introduction of the 009 locomotive in Trainko's fleet of rolling stock will directly increase the operational capacities, and will affect the provision of better quality services in the transport of goods and passengers.
Trainkos JSC is committed to modernizing railway rolling stock to provide the highest quality services for citizens and businesses, thus helping the economic development of the country.
The final realization of the works was made by the team from the well-known German company "Zeppelin Caterpilar" after a week-long work in the workshop of maintenance of rolling stock of HK-Trainkos JSC in Fushe Kosove.
