Pristina, 16 March 2017 – Kosovo Customs together with Kosovo Railways have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, the signing was made by the General Director of Customs Mr. Bahri Berisha and representatives of the railway mr. Agron Thaçi Chief Executive Officer of Infrakos JSC and Gelor Shala Chief Executive Officer of Trainkos JSC.
This Memorandum aims to define the modalities, instruments and methods of cooperation regarding the creation of effective conditions and procedures for customs clearance of shipments, as well as imports. which are carried out through Kosovo Railways, in order to exercise more effective customs control, the active exchange of information, reducing the waiting time of goods, as well as other measures. necessary wind, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of customs clearance of imported goods..
In this case Mr. Berisha stressed that "Customs and railways play an important role in the transportation of goods, so today we will simplify the procedures and enable the business to reduce the transportation costs for their goods"
On the other hand, the chief executive mr. Agron Thaçi commended the initiative for this act of signing this memorandum between the three institutions, which act is in full compliance with the legislation into force.
The same pledged that Infrakos JSC will provide the necessary conditions in order for the examination of goods to be made procedurally faster, safe in cooperation with Kosovo Customs and Trainkos operator.
At the end of mr. President Thaçi expressed the desire for this memorandum to be put into effect immediately and to be respected in practice in order to facilitate the procedures in the import and export of goods transport which will be implemented in the future. i thought that the transportation of goods by rail remained the focus for local and international businesses.
