Kosovo Railways Trainkos Sh.A. after a 2-month interruption of train traffic on the Pristina – Peja – Pristina line, today the operations on this line have resumed and on this occasion the inauguration of 10 new passenger wagons.
In this inauguration, in addition to the management structures of HK-Trainkos JSC of railway workers, the Minister of Infrastructure Mr. Pal Lekaj as well as the Minister of the Ministry of Economic Development Mr. Valdrin Lluka. Also participating in this event were the leaders of the Kosovo Railway Regulatory Authority as well as leaders from the Railway Infrastructure Manager – Infrakos.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of HK – Trainkos Sh.A., Mr. Gelor Shala, who emphasized that: Today I have the special opportunity to express to all of you on this marked day, where the fleet of rolling stock of Trainkos Sh.A. Railways of Kosovo is sending there are 10 new passenger wagons, which today will make the first move on the Pristina – Peja – Pristina railway line after the May 2 interruption of operations on this line.
 | The operation of these wagons will help even more in providing the highest quality services in passenger transport. Our desire has been and remains to provide our travelers with safety, convenience, and better travel conditions. This is our goal, therefore, the realization of the project will contribute to its achievement, said Chief Executive Officer Gelor Shala. |

Valdrin Lluka in his speech stressed that: After 2 months of stopping the operation of trains in Kosovo, today we realized two things; we inaugurated 10 new passenger wagons funded by the Government of Kosovo, and we resumed the operation of the Pristina – Peja – Pristina line. I think that the Railway system is like an artery for a state, both in economic terms and in the welfare of citizens. Our producers continue to have the highest cost of freight transportation in the region and this will change very quickly, Minister Lluka said during his speech. |  |
 | The Ministry of Infrastructure is the authority for which HK-Trainkos provides services in passenger transport in order to fulfill obligations to the citizens of the country. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Pal Lekaj, who emphasized that: What has pushed us to be together today is a goal, the goal of the common good that is our citizen, starting from the students and students of today corresponds to the 20th anniversary of the sacrifice of the students that we offer them a service that goes in their favor. Today, it is also a good thing, because there is no problem that cannot be solved when it is the will of all sectors. I guarantee you that we willdo everything in favor of the development of Railways, and then this will have a positive impact on the economy, on the transport of passengers and goods. We will not allow anyone to be above the law, no one to be discriminated against because we are equal among citizens and before the law. We, as the Government headed by Mr. Haradinaj as the Prime Minister of the Government of Kosovo, will be in the continuous service of the citizens and solving their problems, we will develop policies for Railways and the economy in general, said Minister Lekaj. |
The inauguration of the project "Supply of passenger wagons" and the resumption of operations at the Peja Line was symbolically made by cutting the ribbon made by Mr. Pal Lekaj, Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Valdrin Lluka, Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Gelor Shala, Chief Executive Officer of HK-Trainko Sh.A. and Mr. Sadik Kryeziu, Chairman of the BD of HK-Trainko Sh.A.

Of the eight trains interrupted months ago on the line of Peja and Hani i Elezit, the resumption of operations will be done only with two trains on the line of Peja (one on the way and one on the way). The schedule of these trains will be suitable for all those workers, students and citizens on their daily journey. We hope that for other trains, too, the Government of the country will find the possibility of financing them and all trains will be in the service of the citizens according to the previous schedule.
Trainkos JSC within a short period of time will realize its project toequip the wagons with an Internet network in order to provide passengers with the most efficient services and comfort during the train journey.
